Takayasu Arteritis (TA) is a smoldering disease. It is a rare autoimmune disorder that strikes 2 out of 1 million people and goes undetected until the vessels to the heart becomes inflamed and stenosis occurs.

If you think you are having these symptoms,
please consult a physician immediately
and have the following tests done:


  • angiography (especially of aorta and branches)
  • blood tests
  • sed rate (ESR)
  • c-reactive protein
  • Albumin Globulin and Fibrinogen
  • complete blood count
  • chest X-ray
  • ultrasound
  • arteriographic data
  • blood pressure measurements
  • magnetic resonance imaging studies
  • electrocardiogram
